The company, since its inception has concentrated on the development of infrastructure projects and has successfully implemented projects in the areas of rehabilitation of internal lining and coating of municipal water supply pipelines (as a sub-contractor of Peter Oates (Pty) Ltd of South Africa) and sewerage pipelines, laying of optical fiber cables, tunnelling, mining, site development and turnkey project management. It is currently engaged in developing infrastructure projects like urban utilities for solid waste management, roads and bridges, ports and terminals, etc. The company has prequalified for construction of a few Bridge and Road projects on BOT basis. ZDPL has tied-up on project-to-project basis with world renowned companies like Dragados FCC (Spain), Hanjin Engineering & Construction (South Korea), PELL Frischmann Consultants Ltd.-UK. etc. to augment its credentials and capabilities for bidding and executing prestigious projects. Brief details of some of the major projects undertaken are given below:

Roads and Bridges on BOT Basis
ZDPL completed the construction of its first Bridge Project on BOT basis at Karur, Tamil Nadu in the year 2000. The company has since sold the “tolling rights” of this project to a local company. Another Bridge project was commissioned in Kortalaiyar, Tamil Nadu in 2001 also on BOT basis. The length of the bridge is 355.92 meters and the construction-period was 24 months. Currently the Company is constructing a Road Over Bridge (ROB) including its approaches on Delhi-Ambala Railway line at Kurukshetra, Harayana on BOT basis. The length of the Bridge is 70.70 meters and the total length of the approaches is 634.60 meters. The construction period was 15 months.

Municipal Solid Waste Management
In association with Bio-Resource Center, India, ZDPL is executing a Municipal Solid Waste Management Project on B-O-O-T basis in Kolhapur, (Maharashtra) for waste-management of 150 TPD. The technology tie-up has helped conversion of Organic Bio-degradable waste into High quality Organic Fertilizer. The lease-period in this case runs to 30 years. Click here for more details

Real Estate (India & Overseas)
The Group is also actively involved in developing Real Estate Properties & Projects in India, focusing more on Technology Parks, Special Economic Zones (SEZs), Specialized Industrial Zones, Residential Complexes & Multiplexes. The Group holds substantial Real Estate Properties in Mumbai, Bangalore, Indore & Kolkata. Its overseas acquisitions cover multi-purpose Towers at Rajagiri, Colombo in Sri Lanka. ZDPL has been selected by the Chinese authorities to develop the Zhangjang Technology Park and manage the infrastructure & support services that would facilitate relocation and establishment of Indian Companies (including Zoom) in Shanghai, China. The total FS of the property is 140,000 sq. meters, including basement of about 20,000 sq.mt.

Vizhinjam Port/span
The Consortium comprising two Chinese Companies (KAIDI Electric Power Company & China Harbour Engg. Co.) and Zoom Developers are about to be awarded on B-O-T Basis (with 30 years concession period ) the development and operation of International Container Transshipment Terminal at Vizhinjam, near Thiruvananthapuram (Kerala). The total Project Cost is Rs. 4,360 crores approx.

Granite Project (Hassan, Karnataka)
In acquiring Hulconda Coffee Estate (near Hassan, Karnataka), ZDPL also chanced upon a Black Granite Mine within the Estate.
Trial Mining of the Granite Mine has commenced.
Preliminary estimates indicate sizeable quantity & good quality of Black Granite to be mined and sold to domestic/overseas customers.

ACE (Shanghai, China)
Zoom Developers is in the process of acquiring and embarking on a Project called “Global Technology Centre” at Shanghai (China), by converting an integrated and intelligent building that maximizes the effective management of resources. ZDPL will lease-on the office – lots to Global IT/ITES related Companies, locating themselves in China.
